The use of marcasite jewelry reached the height of its popularity during the Art Deco period when the Flappers used these jewelry favoring geometric and animal inspired designs. Judith Jack silver jewelry should never be exposed to elements like salt water, chlorine, soap and perspiration. Thus it is advisable to remove one’s jewelry when taking a dip whether in the beach or a swimming pool. Avoid leaving your jewelry on while also in the shower or bath.

Regular cleaning your Judith Jack silver pieces with a soft cloth is advisable to avoid build up of oxidizing elements.

For stubborn dirt that cannot be wiped off or reached by a cleaning cloth, one can do the following steps:

1. Line a bowl with aluminum foil and fill it with half a quart of hot water.
2. Dissolve one tablespoon of non-bleach washing powder.
3. Leave the silver jewelry in the solution for about a minute.
4. Rinse with running water and air dry.

The boric acid in the washing powder will produce a reaction that makes the tarnish or dirt attach itself to the aluminum foil.

For more stubborn dirt, soak your Judith Jack silver longer in the solution and use a soft toothbrush to loosen the dirt. Rinse with clean water and dry or repeat the process if necessary.
